A review from DaveCentral.com sums up RemoteBot best:
"Basically an e-mail client with something extra, Remotebot needs to be
installed on at least two computers -- your work and home computers, for
example. Use the Remotebot Wizard to setup and configure the program for use.
The program's built-in security features let you specify which e-mail addresses
and computers that are authorized to use Remotebot.
Once you've installed and configured Remotebot on two or more computers, you
can start requesting files via the RemoteBot Explorer interface. Retrieving
files is actually a two-step process: first, use the Explorer to request a
directory listing, repeating this step until you arrive at the right directory.
When you find the file you wish to download, simply highlight its title in
Explorer, and click once to download.
The length of time it takes the file to transfer depends on the size of the
file and the speed of your Internet connection -- not to mention the speed of
the connection at the remote computer. Since the file transfer is taking place
through your e-mail accounts, you may want to find out if your ISP imposes a
limit on the size of the file attachments sent in e-mail. Many services will
return any file that's over 3 - 5MB in size."
