Instructions for WebWatchBot with MSDE

Follow these steps to move an existing WebWatchBot v5.0
installation from one computer to another. These instructions are for installations of
WebWatchBot using MSDE.
The "source" machine refers to the existing installation and
the "target" refers to the machine WebWatchBot will be moved to.
- On the target machine, do not install WebWatchBot with MSDE yet. If it is installed, you
will need to uninstall it.
- On the
source machine, locate the data folder:
- In
WebWatchBot Manager, select from the menu: Help -> ExclamationSoft
Support -> View Data Folder. A
window should open at the location of the data files.
- Copy
all files and sub-folders from the source machine to the data folder on
the target machine. In most cases,
the data folder on the target machine will be in the same location, e.g. C:\Documents
and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ExclamationSoft\WebWatchBot 5.
- Verify
the date and time of the file of the files and folders on the target
machine to ensure a successful copy.
- On the
source machine:
- Write down or save the license key in a safe place to be activated on the target machine in the next step.
- De-activate the license key.

- WebWatchBot should continue to operate on the source machine, running as the trial version.
- On the
target machine:
- Install WebWatchBot.

- Activate the license key.
- Verify your Watch Items, transactions, and especially email settings.
Instructions for WebWatchBot for SQL Server

Follow these steps to move an existing WebWatchBot v5.0
installation from one computer to another. These instructions are for installations of
WebWatchBot using an existing instance of SQL Server to store WebWatchBot's data.
The "source" machine refers to the existing installation and
the "target" refers to the machine WebWatchBot will be moved to.
- On the
target machine:
- Install WebWatchBot.

NOTE: During the installation, you will be prompted to specify the SQL Server
to store WebWatchBot's data on. Enter the name of the server where the
existing WebWatchBot database is located.
If SQL Server is installed on the source machine and you will install it
on the target machine:
- Install SQL Server
- Transfer the WebWatchBot database from the source
machine to the target machine. Consult your SQL Server documentation
on transfer procedures.
- Locate the data folder: In WebWatchBot Manager, select
from the menu: Help -> ExclamationSoft Support -> View Data
Folder. A window should open at the
location of the data files. Keep
this window open.
- Stop the WebWatchBot service: Tools -> Stop Service.
- Close WebWatchBot Manager.
- On the
source machine, locate the data folder:

WebWatchBot Manager, select from the menu: Help -> ExclamationSoft
