Purpose

This table lists both hardware and software system requirements for NetMailBot.

General System Requirements

Operating System

Windows® 98/98 SE

Windows® Me

Windows® NT 4.0 SP4 Workstation/Server

Windows® 2000 SP4 Professional/Server/Advanced Server

Windows® XP Home/Professional

Windows® Server 2003 Standard Edition/Enterprise Edition/Datacenter Edition

CPU

Minimum: 200 MHz Pentium®/AMD
Recommended: Pentium® III or AMD Athlon 1.0 GHz processor or faster

Memory

Minimum: 32 MB Minimum
Recommended: 64 MB

Hard Drive Space

3 MB Minimum

Video

Any Windows®-compatible video card
Recommended setting at least 640 x 480, 16 colors

Sound

Windows®-compatible sound card - recommended but not required

Other Requirements

MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) if using NetMailBot database features

Version 2.6 or higher, 2.8 is recommended. See the following link to download:

You may have already have a version installed. Find your Windows OS in the list below to see what Default MDAC version comes with it:

Windows Server 2003 - 2.8

Windows XP - 2.7

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3a - 2.71 SP1 Refresh

SQL Server 2000 SP2 - 2.6 SP2

SQL Server 2000 SP1 - 2.6.1

Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 - 2.5 SP3

Windows 98/ME/NT should download and install the newest version of MDAC.

Network Access

Internet connection

TCP/IP must be installed (If you are connected to the Internet, then you most likely have TCP/IP installed)

SMTP server address, e.g. mail.domain.com, smtp.domain.com (Ask your ISP or systems administrator)

Proxy client software if behind a proxy server. (Ask your systems administrator if you are behind a proxy server)

Firewall Port 25 must be open for inbound and outbound traffic.(Ask your systems administrator if you are behind a firewall)
